Welcome to the Art Therapy Nook
I define "nook" as a secure place to seek refuge. In the Art Therapy Nook, you can find this refuge through the comfort and safety of our therapeutic relationship and the creative art therapy process.
Hi, I'm Jordan! I use she/her pronouns, and identify as a queer, femme therapist. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and a licensed/board-certified art therapist (LCAT and ATR-BC) serving Oregon residents via tele-therapy.
I value authenticity and attunement as the most important pillars of therapy. Creating a safe, trusting bond between therapist and client has been shown to be one of the most beneficial interventions of all. After our therapeutic relationship is cultivated, I combine art therapy and talk therapy to create an interactive and engaging therapy experience for clients. My approach is rooted in depth-psychotherapy, attachment theory, parts-work, and Gestalt therapy.
My ideal clients are usually between the ages of 15 - 50, and self-identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. The folks I work with most often are coming to therapy to get help with their anxiety, perfectionism/over-control, depression, eating disorders, body-image, self-esteem, neurodiversity, and/or trauma-work.
Our therapy sessions will explore current life events, as well as past life experiences and relationships, to help you gain insight/self-awareness and self-acceptance. I will support you by moving beyond basic coping skills, and into a deeper sense of self-understanding to improve how you relate to yourself and others. I believe that a positive self-identity is linked to better mental health, reduced stress, and increased self-esteem.
