Art Therapy Groups
Art therapy groups offer something individual therapy can't — the experience of making alongside others, of being witnessed, and of discovering that what feels most private is often most shared. Groups at the Art Therapy Nook are small, closed, and structured around a clear therapeutic arc. They are not classes, workshops, or drop-in sessions. They are therapy.
New groups are added periodically. If you don't see a current offering that fits, you're welcome to reach out and get on the waitlist for future cycles.
Reclaiming the Creative Self
8-Week Group Cycles
For many of us, creativity was something we quietly set down when life got louder, when work took over, and when we told ourselves we weren't really artists anyway. For helping professionals and others running on empty, making things often feels like a luxury that belongs to someone else's life.

This group is an invitation back.

Reclaiming the Creative Self is a closed art therapy group for adults who want to reconnect with creativity, self-expression, and art as a form of self-care. Over eight weeks, we use guided art-making and group reflection to work with creative blocks — the inner critic, perfectionism, the myth of talent — and rediscover what your own creative voice has to say. No art experience or skill required.
Who This Group Is For:
-
Adults experiencing burnout, creative depletion, or disconnection from self-expression
-
Helping professionals — therapists, teachers, nurses, social workers, caregivers — who spend their days giving and need something that's genuinely theirs
-
Anyone who used to make things and somewhere along the way stopped
-
People curious about art as a therapeutic tool for self-understanding, not just self-expression
Participants should be in a place of general stability and able to engage in a relational group process. A brief video screening conversation helps determine goodness of fit.
